US metalcore juggernauts I Prevail have officially announced their next chapter: a brand new album titled Violent Nature, due to drop on September 19 via Fearless Records.

To celebrate, the Grammy-nominated group have unleashed their third single from the record — the emotionally loaded slow-burner ‘Rain’, paired with a haunting new music video (watch below).

    I Prevail – ‘Rain’

It’s a track that sums up the band’s ability to marry cathartic heaviness with raw vulnerability, capturing the overwhelming weight of suffering… and the relief that follows when you finally let go.

“‘Rain’ was one of the first songs we wrote for the record,” frontman Eric Vanlerberghe explains in a press statement. “As time went along and more songs started filling up the tracklist, it continued to be one of my favourites. Thematically, ‘Rain’ deals with acceptance of things out of your control and finding clarity.”

The single follows on from the pummelling ‘Into Hell’ and title track ‘Violent Nature’, marking a major turning point for the band — their first chapter with Vanlerberghe stepping up as their sole lead vocalist.

Produced by bassist Jon Eberhard, Violent Nature will feature a total of ten hard-hitting tracks, promising a darker, deeper and more intense I Prevail than we’ve ever heard before.

The Michigan five-piece have been on a wild ride since breaking through with their gold-certified debut Lifelines (2016), following up with 2019’s TRAUMA — which scored them Grammy noms for Best Rock Album and Best Metal Performance — and 2022’s genre-defying TRUE POWER. Their evolution now continues with Violent Nature, which you can pre-order here.

Most recently, Aussie fans witnessed the chaos firsthand when I Prevail tore up arena stages around the country supporting Parkway Drive on their massive 20th anniversary tour.

And with a new record on the horizon, here’s hoping it won’t be long before they’re back to unleash their, ahem, Violent Nature on local stages.
