Iconic dance music singer and instrumentalist Kiesza releases her new body of work–a sexy, intimate exploration of female pop-driven house music with Dancing and Crying: Vol. 2 out today. The six-track album features her latest singles “Stays In Bed” produced by Sammy Virji and Jess Cake, “So Erotic” with Peaches and focus track “Ruin My Life.” “Ruin My Life” produced by Jess Cake and Sugar Jesus is the signature track for this volume.

“Ruin My Life is a deeply sexy track with multiple layers and it has the coolest build ending on a total climax. I felt super playful inside the production. I could just keep exploring.” – Kiesza

Kiesza’s Dancing and Crying: Vol 2 channels dark, late night house vibes, created in an environment of collaboration and spontaneity. This volume surrounds the theme of friends coming and going from Kiesza’s home studio, late-night linkups, and a hunger to keep a consistent mood throughout the album. The collection of six songs opens with “Stays in Bed” produced by Jess Cake and Sammy Virji, which set the tone for the entire album. Next, is “Runaway” created with Baltimore artist Jaylen Brown who Kiesza previously toured with on the West coast in 2024. This track is dedicated to the Queens of the queer art and fashion scene, which is a celebration of movement, self-expression, and giving back to the roots that grounded her.

“This volume feels like an underground dance house vibe. “Stays In Bed” was the genesis of the lyrical themes. I wanted to go for it and express my mode of seduction. Everything flowed together from there. It was a very easy volume to create with everyone. It’s a volume you can lose yourself in and that was intentional. Because of my songwriter background, I have a tendency to switch vibes or genres almost daily, but this time I wanted to keep an emotion going throughout the volume and sustain it. ‘Dancing and Crying: Vol. 2’ was made with a lot of my friends present and coming in and out of the room. We also went out a bunch during the process and sometimes went back to record after being out all night.” – Kiesza

“So Erotic,” produced by Jess Cake, Sugar Jesus, and Bobby Love, marks an exceptional moment featuring dance artist Peaches. Of the song Billboard shared, “It’s the essence of double trouble with this pair-up from Kiesza and Peaches, who together deliver a dark and titillating house track with often NSFW lyrics and thumping production that make it worthy of its name.” The final track “To Die To Sleep,” co-created with Jess Cake, is a soundscape interweaving the four elements–earth, wind, fire, and water, with a beat that moves the mind and body.

In support of her new music, look for Kiesza to return to the road this summer as she continues her Dancing and Crying tour with fellow pop artist Bonnie McKee. She is also set to host an album release show tonight at the Pop Pantheon Party in Brooklyn. All dates follow below.
