Stirring in its swell from hazy key-laden quaintness into an infectious expanse, “Should’ve Said Something” is a gripping track from Dan Cousart. Coming via the East Nashville-based artist’s new album, Here’s Twelve Songs, “Should’ve Said Something” regales in its lyrical depictions of heartbreak and dynamic instrumentation. The bolstering of playful synths during the “left missing you” hook is especially magnetic, building seamlessly from the subdued piano-laden “lost my way” reflections in the verses. The track continues to showcase the stellar songwriting of Dan Cousart, who also caught our ears last month with the tracks “Dancing In the Kitchen” and “You’re a Ghost.”
