Attawalpa, the project of UK-based artist Luis Felber, shares his brand new single You Are You, the latest single to be taken from his sophomore album Experience, out now!
You Are You is a captivating indie-pop song about humanity as a whole, sharing a positive message to carry on with our lives. I am really enjoying the tone of his voice and how smooth and expressive his vocal delivery is, gliding effortlessly over the warm production. I am particularly fond of the steady drum beats nicely intertwined with killer guitar plucks, lush strings and ambient textures that come together to create an overall warm, dreamy atmosphere perfect for a laid-back weekend!
Accompanying the release, Attawalpa shares its official animated video directed by Esme Blegvad.
Speaking about the song, Attawalpa said,
I originally wrote this song about my hairless dog Ingrid. I always walk around the house lovingly saying ‘what are you?’, ‘who are you?’. Just as surprised every time. Like most songs, the original idea stretches and becomes wider. It ended up being a song about humanity as a whole. A positive whisper to carry on. Ingrid features in the Esme Blegvad hand-drawn animated video.
