Dellwood, the project of Minneapolis-based artist and producer Chris Bartels, shares his brand new single Lovelights, a slow-burning summer folk meditation.
Out now via Anthem Falls, Lovelights captures the feeling of sitting with close friends under fading twilight, digging into the hard questions of life and love, while still finding comfort and calm in the togetherness. A song about going through tough times but glad you’ve had your person there with you. A relatable message flawlessly conveyed through his spacious vocals and layered harmonies that instantly create a warm and soothing soundscape. Accompanying those lush vocals we have intimate fingerpicked acoustic guitars which are nicely intertwined with subtle ambient textures and rhythms, together creating an overall intimate and warm atmosphere perfect for an introspective, laid-back weekend!
Speaking about the song, Dellwood said,
It’s a song about those seasons of life where you feel like you’re going through hell, but, you have your person there with you. You’re at least not going through it all alone. So yeah, there’s a weight to the story, but it’s also hopeful. There’s a lightness to this one. It felt like the best fit for a summer folk single in that way as well.
