PS Plus has had a pretty good Summer with some excellent games across Essential, Extra, and Premium. This includes triple-A titles and indies. But what will August hold?

    • READ MORE: All 2025 game release dates for PS5, PS4, Xbox, PC, and Nintendo Switch

Thankfully, we already know one game coming to the service in August, but here is a rundown of everything to know.

    PS Plus August 2025 games

The PS Plus August 2025 games confirmed so far are:

    • Sword of the Sea – PS5 (Extra, Premium – Available from August 19, 2025)

The rest of the games will be announced soon. The Essential games will be revealed on July 30, 2025, and made available from August 5, 2025. The rest of the Extra and Premium games will be revealed on August 13, 2025, and made available from August 19, 2025 (the same day as Sword of the Sea).

‘Sword of the Sea’ – PS5

Surf across magnificent waves of sand and glistening waters on an epic quest to restore a lost ocean in Sword of the Sea.

From the visionary artist behind ABZÛ, The Pathless, and Journey – Sword of the Sea is an atmospheric surfing adventure with high-speed Hoversword movement inspired by skateboarding and snowboarding. Carve your way forward on the ancient and powerful Hoversword, which moves like a snowboard, skateboard, and surfboard all in one. Build momentum to reach top speed and catch big air off the crests of giant waves. Pull off radical flips, spins, and grab tricks with ease as you shred halfpipes, ramps, and wall rides. It’s the perfect balance of exhilarating action and fluid, meditative movement.

The games leaving the service in July 2025 are:

    • Diablo IV – PS5, PS4 (Essential)
    • The King of Fighters XV – PS5, PS4 (Essential)
    • Jusant – PS5 (Essential)

For even more on the current PS Plus lineup, check out what was recently added to the service with our guide on the July 2025 PS Plus games.
