Nu-metal heads, your time has come. After almost two decades in the shadows, Testeagles — Adelaide’s most chaotic, camo-clad export — are back and louder than ever, announcing a national reunion tour to celebrate the 25th anniversary of their cult debut album, Non Comprehendus.

If you were a teenage dirtbag in the early 2000’s, chances are Non Comprehendus was your religion. Released in Feb 2000 and peaking at #8 on the ARIA Charts, the album fused crunching riffs with digital mayhem, wrapped in enough angst and static to short-circuit a Discman. And now, after a 17-year hiatus (save a one-off appearance at Adelaide’s Froth & Fury fest last year), the band are finally bringing it back to the stage for a fully-fledged Aussie tour.

Testeagles – ‘Turn That Shit Up’

They’re hitting the road this October and November, giving Non Comprehendus the full victory lap it deserves.

Even more powerful is the story behind the comeback: for years, it seemed impossible, with bassist D battling significant health issues. But in true Testeagles fashion — stubborn, scrappy, and harder to kill than a Nokia 3310 — he’s defied the odds to make this tour happen.

Back in the day, Testeagles weren’t just on the scene, they pretty much owned it. They took Aussie rock out of the pub, threw it into a blender with samples, synths, and savage breakdowns, and gave us something new: a post-industrial sonic gut-punch that earned them heavy rotation on triple j, unforgettable Big Day Out slots, and a permanent spot in the hearts of headbangers nationwide.

Musicologist Ian McFarlane famously called them “the most visceral album to chart in the Australian Top 10 since Nine Inch Nails”, just fyi.

Joining them on the tour (everywhere except the Gold Coast) will be fellow reformed alt-rock warriors Bushido, bringing their own arsenal of big singalong melodies and slab-heavy riffs to prime the pit before the main event.

So, dig out your blowfly sunnies. Lace up your DCs. And get ready to party like it’s 1999.

You can peep Testeagles’ full list of reunion tour dates down below.
