John Power from Oasis‘ support act, Cast, said Liam and Noel Gallagher “seem to be in an absolutely wonderful place”.

The Liverpool band are playing the opening set at all 19 dates of the UK and Ireland leg of the massive ‘Oasis Live ‘25’ tour.

Speaking about the experience of working so closely with the Gallagher brothers in a new interview with Vulture, Power said the two “seem to be in an absolutely wonderful place”.

When asked about the current dynamic between the pair, Power added: “They both genuinely … well, of course they want to be there, but you can feel the positive energy. It’s all going hunky-dory.”

Elsewhere in the interview, he said that Liam seems to be concentrated on the performances, and that is why he is no longer tweeting in the way he used to prior to the tour.

“He’s very, very focused at the moment,” Power said. “I know that this tour means a hell of a lot, if not the world, to him. He’s doing everything to make sure that he can go on. The worst thing is if you’re tired, because your voice gets knackered and a bit strained. He’s in top form at the moment. Whatever he’s doing, he’s doing the right things because his voice sounds absolutely wonderful.”

At the first Cardiff show, Power dedicated ‘Walkaway’ to the late Liverpool star Diogo Jota, with the band playing other hits such as ‘Guiding Star’ and ‘Alright’ – see the full round up of the gig here.

Backstage at one of the Cardiff shows, Power also posted a video of him singing a lighthearted ballad dedicated to Oasis guitarist Paul “Bonehead” Arthurs.

Watch Cast play their track ‘Alright’ in some fan-captured footage below.

Last month, Cast announced their new album ‘Yeah Yeah Yeah’ and shared the lead single ‘Poison Vine’. The first taste of the record is ‘Poison Vine’, which features their signature chiming guitar sound and guest vocals from veteran soul singer P.P. Arnold.

Last year, Cast’s Power told NME that they felt nothing but a “very positive vibe” about supporting Oasis.

“We’re blown away by it,” Power told NME their reaction to when news broke out that they would support the britpop band. “We had the nod and were just waiting for the official announcement. Now we can bask in it. It’s a stamp of approval from our peers, and I appreciate that massively.”

He continued: “It kind of reaffirms our legacy and authenticates the road and journey that we’ve been on as a band. And now us, Richard Ashcroft and Oasis – talk about Northern Soul! That’s some line-up.”

Looking back to his earliest encounter with a Gallagher, he recalled: “I’d just left The La’s and decided to go see them at this little club in Manchester, to show there were no bad feelings. That’s when I first met Liam. This young lad came up to me and asked me for a ciggy; it was a 16-year-old Liam.

“Then later, me and Cast were recording some demos. ‘Supersonic’ was really happening and Oasis were on this little club tour. I blagged my way into this little venue in Liverpool and I was talking to this NME journalist at the bar who recognised me from The La’s. Then Liam comes in, and this was a few days after the band had been on The Word, and tells me about me not giving him a ciggy!

“We’re backstage and I’m playing him and Noel the demos, and you could feel that there was something afoot. They gave us a show [supporting them] at The Venue in New Cross. That was really important for us, as the Polydor head of A&R was in the audience and he’d go on and sign us.”
