Pedro Pascal’s favourite band is The Cure

Pedro Pascal has talked about his love of The Cure in a new interview, the latest of many instances where he has shown his affection for the goth icons.

During a BBC interview promoting his new film The Fantastic Four: First Steps, the actor was asked about his fondness for the band and if there is one song from their back catalogue he would like to have played on the radio. His immediate answer was their 1987 classic ‘Just Like Heaven’.

Later in the interview, he is asked if he ever went through a goth phase. “I didn’t. I wish I had, I guess I just didn’t have the courage to” he replied, recalling that: “I was like a little theatre nerd. But I went to a school (where) all the Visual Arts kids, they all sported that look. The mascara and fingernail polish. My first club that I went to was a goth club, it was like a 16 and over night, and I went with my friend and we danced. We danced to The Cure”.

It’s not the first time the actor has been seen expressing his love for the band. Last November, while filming The Fantastic Four in the UK, he and co-star Ebon Moss-Bachrach were seen dancing at The Cure’s concert at the Troxy in London.

Taking to his Instagram page, Pascal posted a video of the legends playing their 1989 song ‘Plainview’, quoting the lyrics in the caption: “Sometimes you make me feel/ Like I’m living at the edge of the world/ Like I’m living at the edge of the world / ‘It’s just the way I smile,’ you said”.

The post continued: “#TheCure in #London #Plainsong (I’ve waited since 1989 to see this live. Thank you @ebonmossbachrach 💜)”.

This month, he showed his fandom at the premiere of West End hit Evita in London, wearing a t shirt that showed the cover for the song ‘Boys Don’t Cry’.

In other Pedro Pascal news, the actor recently revealed he almost quit acting to become a nurse. He also said that his clean-shaven look in 2020 film Wonder Woman 1984 bothered him so much he has worn facial hair in roles ever since.
