Melbourne-based, British singer and songwriter Sianon is back with her brand new single Halfway Home, a heartfelt and melancholic piece of folk/pop music out now via Mahogany Songs!
Written by Sianon and produced by Hayden Calnin, Halfway Home is a song about navigating the music industry as a young female and how tough and destructive it can be. It shows how much it affected her music and got her taking some time, moving back to the comfort of her home as a way to heal and get that spark and passion back. You can clearly feel the raw, honest emotion pouring from Sianon’s stunning vocals which set the tone for a warm and introspective listening experience. I am very fond of the delicate guitar plucks nicely intertwined with subtle banjo touches, emotive piano keys, gentle strings and steady beats that come together to create a heartwarming soundscape perfect for a laid-back weekend!
Halfway Home is about navigating the music industry as a young female. I was told I was overweight at 17, too old at 19 — and eventually, it felt like the actual songs counted for nothing. I left London mid COVID and moved back in with my parents, it felt like I’d failed. But home was healing. I found the version of me that loved music before anyone had an opinion.
