‘South Park’ mocks Trump again in trailer for new episode

South Park has continued making jokes aimed at US President Donald Trump, with a trailer for the show’s forthcoming episode showing him stroking the leg of Satan.

Season 27 of the long-running satirical animated show opened with the episode Sermon On The Mount, in which Trump is portrayed in a partly AI-generated sequence, where he stripped naked in the desert and was revealed to have a micro-penis.

He is also shown to be having a sexual affair with Satan, similar to the way Saddam Hussein was portrayed in the 1998 film South Park: Bigger, Longer, And Uncut.

The clip for the new episode, which premieres August 6, shows Trump being honoured at a dinner, sitting next to Satan. While a speaker is talking about his achievements, the politician begins to caress Satan’s leg, after which he is told to stop.

The episode also shows the character of Eric Cartman expressing typically right-wing views, and teacher Mr Mackey being part of an ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) unit.

The White House previously released a statement attacking the show, saying: “This show hasn’t been relevant for over 20 years and is hanging on by a thread with uninspired ideas in a desperate attempt for attention”.

South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone then gave a mocking apology while asked about the statement at San Diego Comic Con.

While Trump may have disapproved of the jokes, Stephen Colbert saw the funny side. The Late Show host, whose series cancellation was celebrated by the President, played a clip from the show and called it “an important message of hope”.

Earlier this month, the son of Isaac Hayes, who played the character of Chef on the cartoon, revealed that he believed the musician was made to leave South Park by Scientology leaders after an episode of the show made fun of the religion.
