Meredith Music Festival has announced the line-up for its 33rd year, returning once again to the Supernatural Amphitheatre – affectionately known as The Sup’ – in regional Victoria over the first weekend of December. Heading up the announcement are TV On The Radio, the experimental Brooklyn indie-rock band who will headline on Saturday night as part of their first Australian visit in over a decade. Joining TVOTR on the bill as international visitors are J-pop girl group Atarashii Gakko!, baroque pop singer-songwriter Perfume Genius, soul-funk trio Thee Sacred Souls and art-rock band Bar Italia. On the local front, the festival’s eclectic line-up includes ARIA Hall Of Famer Colin Hay, jazz fusion band Mildlife, post-punks Radio Free Alice and Dr. Sure’s Unusual Practice and the Folk Bitch Trio.
TV On The Radio – ‘Golden Age’
TV On The Radio last performed in Australia in June 2015, performing at that year’s Vivid LIVE in support of their fifth studio album Seeds. The band entered a largely inactive period following the Seeds world tour, performing only occasionally up until around 2019. The band reunited in 2024, without co-founding guitarist Dave Sitek, and have been touring extensively for the last year.
Last year’s line-up featured performances from the likes of Jamie xx, Waxahatchee, Genesis Owusu, Angie McMahon, Glass Beams, Mk.gee, Mannequin Pussy and Leo Sayer. The year prior, meanwhile, featured sets from Caroline Polacheck, Kraftwerk, Alex G, Alvvays and Flowdan.
