The Black Sabbath frontman, who died last month at age 76, played his final-ever live show at the huge ‘Back To The Beginning’ event at Villa Park on July 5.

Villa honoured Ozzy at their home game against Newcastle at the ground with a video tribute following the players’ warm-up before the two teams walked out to footage of Osbourne performing ‘Crazy Train’ at last month’s gig. The late frontman was a lifelong fan of the club.

Bostin’ Brass, who who performed at Ozzy’s funeral procession in Birmingham, also played brass versions of the singer’s solo hits and Black Sabbath classics in the stadium’s fan zone, while the club opened a book of condolence in the club store.

A mural on the outside wall of the nearby Holte Pub, featuring an image of the singer and the words ‘Ozzy Forever’ has also been painted while the cover of the official matchday programme also featured a tribute, with an illustration of a figure resembling the Prince Of Darkness walking up the steps to the ground wearing a No.9 shirt with the word ‘Ozzy’ above it.

Earlier this month, his funeral cortege started at the site of Villa Park and travelled through the city centre in a procession attended by thousands of fans.

Following the procession, Osbourne was laid to rest in the grounds of his UK mansion in Buckinghamshire during a private ceremony that was attended by Elton John, members of Metallica and more.

It has since been revealed that Ozzy’s death certificate lists the cause of death as a heart attack, while also mentioning that he was suffering from a coronary heart disease and Parkinson’s. It also listed his occupation as “Songwriter, Performer and Rock Legend”.

Elsewhere, the exhibition ‘Ozzy Osbourne: Working Class Hero’, which showcases his most prestigious international honours, will remain open at the Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery until January 2026.

Ozzy’s children Jack and Kelly both shared heartfelt, emotional personal tributes to their father following his death, while countless other artists have covered his songs, including The Flaming Lips, Coldplay, Yungblud, Alice Cooper and Geordie Greep.

It was also announced earlier this month that the flowers and tributes laid by fans in Ozzy’s hometown Birmingham were being preserved by the Central Bid Birmingham to be sent to the late singer’s family.

Reports have since emerged that a man has been arrested for theft of tribute flowers one of the memorial sites.
