Dark rock behemoths MONO INC. return with the luminous fury of ‘Darkness,’ their most complex album yet. The indomitable German collective emerges from sold-out symphonic spectacles to deliver an explosive battle against despair through crushing melodies and multilingual lyrical devastation. This remarkable 13th opus showcases why MONO INC. has forged an unbreakable bond with their Raven Community through decades of boundary-pushing excellence.
The pull of darkness. Sometimes you seem to lose yourself in it, sometimes it offers you protection and security. Yet our inner light will always outshine the darkness and let you rise up again, like a raven rising from the ruins. MONO INC. are back – celebrating the light and power we all carry within us!
Following the chart-topping releases of “The Book of Fire” and “Ravenblack”, yet another sold out Symphonic Tour and headline slots at countless festivals, the 13th studio album will finally be released on August 15th 2025. “Darkness” is an ode to the strength we all carry within us.
Solidarity and tolerance, charity and self-love: “Darkness” is about all that, which has carried the ever-growing Raven Community through the storms and lifted them from the depths over the years.
Bandleader Martin Engler characterizes the brilliant title track “In My Darkness” as follows: “The darkness in us has a right to be there. We’ve all had to endure a lot and feel a lot of pain – and yet we’re still here. This is what makes “In My Darkness” a song for this time and for all time. “Even when the world around us is in chaos. We know that there is this light within us that can send us warmth and a glimmer of hope into the darkness,” Martin Engler describes. “We shine for ourselves – we’ve done it so many times before!”
And when all seems hopeless? I want to be your anchor! The second single describes the wonderful things, both big and small, that help us withstand the hurricane of emotions and get back to safe waters. “This anchor can be another person, an animal, an object or even ourselves, by sending us good thoughts or reminding us of a beautiful memory,” says Martin Engler, who has written four songs with German lyrics for the new album – authentic, profound, lyrical.
This is not the only reason MONO INC. 2025 is more complex than ever. These giants of dark rock unite great melodies with emotional depth in the 12 songs on ‘Darkness’. This new album unleashes momentous power, whilst simultaneously creating intimate moments – a feat to be experienced live from October, on MONO INC.’s biggest tour to date.
