Lagwagon have announced an additional seven Australian shows to complement their appearance at next year’s Froth & Fury festival. The veteran American punk-rock band are returning to Australia to celebrate the 30th anniversary of their third studio album, Hoss. They will play it in full every night, along with selections from the rest of their discography. The full itinerary can be found below.
The band were last in Australia in November 2023, where they undertook a national tour that included a performance on the self-described “punk cruise” Schooner Or Later on Sydney Harbour and played sets that were exclusively chosen by fans lodging requests. Lagwagon first toured Australia back in 1996 – coincidentally, in support of Hoss – and have been frequent visitors since.
Per Setlist.FM, Australia is the band’s fifth most-toured country behind the UK, Canada, Germany and their native US. Frontman Joey Cape, too, has also undertaken several Australian tours since 2012, with the most recent of these taking place in early 2023. He has also toured Australia as a member of cover band Me First & The Gimme Gimmes, most recently in October and November of 2024.
Lagwagon – ‘Razor Burn’
Hoss was first released in November of 1995 via the band’s longtime home of Fat Wreck Chords. Produced by Ryan Greene, the album includes the songs ‘Violins’ and ‘Razor Burn’ – their most-played and third-most-played live songs, respectively. It is the last Lagwagon album to feature the original line-up, as both guitarist Shaun Dewey and drummer Derrick Plourde would depart the band shortly after its recording and release. Plourde later passed away in 2005, at the age of 33.
