Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds have announced their long-awaited Australian tour dates, which will bring them back for a homecoming run of open-air shows across January and February 2026. The shows are part of the band’s Wild God world tour, which began last year in support of their 18th studio album of the same name. The full list of tour dates and ticketing info can be found below.
The announcement of the band’s Australian tour was pre-empted by Cave himself, who leaked the news last week in an edition of his letter-writing series The Red Hand Files. Responding to a fan named Geoff, who wanted to know when he would be touring next, Cave responded: “I keep thinking about you and your poor Bad Seeds-deprived wife. I’m not sure I am supposed to tell you this, but the tour will be announced next week. It’s gonna be wild, it’s gonna be big, and it’s gonna be beautiful.”
Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds – ‘Frogs’
Cave last toured Australia with the Bad Seeds in early 2017, in support of their 2016 album Skeleton Tree. Since then, Cave has toured Australia twice in different guises – one in duo mode with longtime collaborator Warren Ellis, touring their album Carnage, and then under his own name with accompaniment from Radiohead bassist Colin Greenwood. The Bad Seeds resumed international touring in 2022, following touring plans for 2019’s Ghosteen being halted by COVID-19.
Wild God was released almost exactly a year ago on August 30th, 2024. Its creation was partially documented on Cave’s episode of Australian Story, which also saw him open up to presenter Leigh Sales regarding the grief of losing his two sons. The album debuted at number two on the ARIA Albums Chart, and was nominated for the 2024 Australian Music Prize alongside the likes of Hiatus Kaiyote, Amyl & The Sniffers, Grace Cummings and the Prize’s eventual winner, Kankawa Nagarra
