Will Oasis ever change their reunion tour setlist? Here’s what Noel Gallagher told his mate Matt Morgan

Noel Gallagher has shed some light on whether Oasis will switch up the setlist on their huge reunion tour.

The Britpop band returned to the stage for the first time in 16 years last month at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff.

They’ve since staged a five-night hometown residency at Manchester’s Heaton Park, played a run of gigs at London’s Wembley Stadium, and performed at Edinburgh’s Murrayfield Stadium, Dublin’s Croke Park and Toronto’s Rogers Stadium.

Each gig has featured the exact same 23-song setlist, which leans heavily on tracks from Liam and Noel Gallagher‘s ’90s output.

Fans have hoped for some variation and switch-ups as the Live ’25 tour goes on – with some noting the absence of big-hitters like ‘Lyla’, ‘Columbia’, ‘The Importance Of Being Idle’ and ‘Stop Crying Your Heart Out’.

There had been rumours that the set could change for the current North American leg, after ‘Lyla’ soundtracked a recent promo video ahead of last night’s Toronto show (August 24). However, the first Canadian date saw the Gallaghers continue with the same collection of songs.

Speaking on a recent episode of his podcast, Noel’s close friend Matt Morgan shared his thoughts on the setlist not varying. He also revealed that he’d spoken to the songwriter and guitarist about why this is the case.

“It’s mad that they’re doing the same set,” Morgan said (via the Mirror). “I thought they would vary it slightly. I said to Noel, ‘Don’t you just want to mix it up?’ He said, ‘No, I like it like that’. He knows where he is. They bang it out.”

Morgan also said that he had talked to Noel after one of Oasis’ recent shows at Wembley Stadium. “He looks so happy. He is,” he told his listeners.

“I didn’t see him on the Friday because he just goes quickly but on Saturday, because he didn’t have a gig the next day, he was hanging out for a bit. He was well happy with it all.”

Morgan continued: “At various points I spoke to him in the last year about it, and he sort of moved his opinion of what [the set was] gonna be and what it is. I think it’s done so well and felt so good. He seems very happy with it.

“And he looks happy on stage, actually. He’s not plodding through it.”

Morgan described the Live ’25 set as being “fucking good, and it’s still going on”. He added: “The wheels haven’t fallen off so far, and they’ll just keep doing it.”

It comes after Noel himself spoke out about the experience of playing live again with Oasis, saying he’d been “completely blown away” by the reaction.

“For me personally, I grossly underestimated what I was getting into,” Noel explained. “After about five minutes [onstage in Cardiff], I was like, alright, can I just go back to the dressing room and start this again?”

He said that his “legs turned to jelly after about halfway through the second song”, but admitted it was “great being back in a band with Liam – I’d forgotten how funny he was”.

Noel has made numerous appearances on Morgan’s podcast previously, and the pair have broadcast together on BBC Radio 2.

Oasis will play a second show at Toronto’s Rogers Stadium tonight (August 25) ahead of further stops in Chicago, East Rutherford, Pasadena and Mexico City. Next month, they’ll return to the UK for two additional gigs at London’s Wembley Stadium.

From there, the band will head to South America, Australia, South Korea and Japan.

Ahead of the tour kicking off, NME shared its dream setlist for Oasis’ Live ’25 reunion dates. It featured tracks like ‘The Hindu Times’, ‘She’s Electric’, ‘The Importance Of Being Idle’ and ‘Lyla’ – all of which do not appear in the show.

NME gave the first night in Cardiff a glowing five-star review. “After a ‘90s heyday and an often maligned post-millennium era, this is Oasis redesigned for the 21st Century,” it read.

“Playing before a pop-art-meets-psychedelia visual spectacular that never distracts but will look sick on a phone, they seem the quintessential stadium band playing the greatest hits of greatest hits.”

Oasis have been releasing an official live version of a track from each city on the Live ’25 tour. So far we’ve had ‘Slide Away’ from Cardiff, ‘Cigarettes & Alcohol’ from Manchester, ‘Little By Little’ from London and ‘Bring It On Down’ from Edinburgh.
