PS Plus has had a mixed year when it comes to the reception of its free games. While there have been some highlights in the free games selection, the Extra and Premium games have been lacklustre. But what will September hold?
Thankfully, the month’s lineup is looking incredibly strong. Here is a full breakdown of what to expect for the month.
PS Plus September 2025 games
The PS Plus September 2025 games are:
- Psychonauts 2 – PS4 (Essential – Available until October 7, 2025)
- Stardew Valley – PS4 (Essential – Available until October 7, 2025)
- Viewfinder – PS5, PS4 (Essential – Available until October 7, 2025)
Psychonauts 2 – PS4
Razputin “Raz” Aquato, trained acrobat and powerful young psychic, has realised his lifelong dream of joining the international psychic espionage organisation known as the Psychonauts! But these psychic super spies are in trouble. Their leader hasn’t been the same since he was rescued from a kidnapping, and what’s worse, there’s a mole hiding in headquarters.
Combining quirky missions and mysterious conspiracies, Psychonauts 2 is a platform-adventure game with cinematic style and tons of customizable psychic powers. Psychonauts 2 serves up danger, excitement and laughs in equal measure as players guide Raz on a journey through the minds of friends and foes on a quest to defeat a murderous psychic villain.
Stardew Valley – PS4
You’ve inherited your grandfather’s old farm plot in Stardew Valley. Armed with hand-me-down tools and a few coins, you set out to begin your new life. Can you learn to live off the land and turn these overgrown fields into a thriving home? It won’t be easy. Ever since Joja Corporation came to town, the old ways of life have all but disappeared. The community centre, once the town’s most vibrant hub of activity, now lies in shambles. But the valley seems full of opportunity. With a little dedication, you might just be the one to restore Stardew Valley to greatness!
Viewfinder – PS5, PS4
Challenge perception, redefine reality, and reshape the world around you with an instant camera. Viewfinder is a new single-player game offering gamers hours of interesting and fun experiences while uncovering the mysteries left behind.
Viewfinder is a mind-bending first-person adventure game in which you can bring pictures to life by placing them into the world.
The PS Plus Essential games were revealed on August 27, 2025, and made available from September 2, 2025. The Extra and Premium games will be revealed on September 10, 2025, and made available from September 16, 2025.

- DayZ – PS4 (Essential – Available until September 2, 2025)
- My Hero One’s Justice 2 – PS4 (Essential – Available until September 2, 2025)
