The band’s drone display was seen for the first time ahead of their first show in Cardiff, and has been a fixture in each city before their gigs.
Last night (August 27), they were once again sighted – this time above a Young concert at Chicago’s Huntington Bank Pavilion at Northerly Island. The legendary singer-songwriter was performing there as part of the ongoing North American leg of his ‘Love Earth’ world tour with his band, the Chrome Hearts.
It comes ahead of their upcoming show in the Windy City tonight (August 28), which marks their first show in the USA, following two shows in Toronto, Canada, earlier this week. They’re joined by Cage The Elephant as a support act.
After Chicago, their remaining North American dates will take place in East Rutherford, Pasadena and Mexico City, after which they will head back for two final nights at Wembley. Later in the year, they play in South Korea, Japan, Australia, Argentina, Chile and Brazil.

It’s worth noting that the band are big fans of Young, with Noel Gallagher saying he was “the only guy I’ve been in awe of after meeting”, in a 2011 interview with MOJO.
“He’s always been very respectful to Oasis, and to me when I’ve met him,” he said at the time, per Far Out. “I’ve seen him with Crazy Horse, with acoustic gigs, and he always comes from a place of truth. He’s invented a car that runs on fucking grass or something.
“The world can be split into two camps: people that like Neil Young and people that don’t. And the people that don’t are fucking idiots,” he added.
Oasis have also frequently covered Young’s 1979 track ‘Hey Hey, My My (Into The Black)’, even officially releasing their version on their 2000 live album ‘Familiar to Millions’. NME ranked the cover at 130 in a list of every track the band has ever released.

So far, Young’s tour has seen him dust off some rarities, including ‘Ambulance Blues’, which he recently played for the first time in over 50 years at a concert in the Netherlands, and ‘Long Walk Home’, which he performed for the first time since 1989 during a recent show in New York.
Earlier this summer, he headlined Glastonbury 2025 and topped the bill at BST Hyde Park in London. In a four-star review of Young’s return to the Pyramid Stage at Glasto, NME described the performance as “a headline set that proves that sometimes, there’s still power to be found in an old-school approach”.
Meanwhile, Young recently quit Facebook over parent company Meta’s reported “unconscionable use of chatbots with children”.
As for Oasis, NME gave the first night of their reunion tour in Cardiff a glowing five-star review. “After a ‘90s heyday and an often maligned post-millennium era, this is Oasis redesigned for the 21st Century,” it read.
“Playing before a pop-art-meets-psychedelia visual spectacular that never distracts but will look sick on a phone, they seem the quintessential stadium band playing the greatest hits of greatest hits.”
Oasis have been releasing an official live version of a track from each city on the Live ’25 tour. So far we’ve had ‘Slide Away’ from Cardiff, ‘Cigarettes & Alcohol’ from Manchester, ‘Little By Little’ from London and ‘Bring It On Down’ from Edinburgh.
Elsewhere, Noel recently shed some light on whether Oasis will switch up the setlist on the tour. So far, it’s remained the same at every date.
