Melbourne metalcore rising stars Bad/Love are stepping into their biggest chapter yet, dropping their crushing new single ‘What’s Left Here?’ while locking in a UK/EU booking deal with Echelon Artists – all before they storm BIGSOUND 2025 and Converge Festival this September.
Produced by Callan Orr (Dream On, Dreamer), with vocal production from Northlane’s Marcus Bridge and mixed/mastered by Forrester Savell (Karnivool, Tesseract), the track hits like an emotional sledgehammer – fusing cinematic soundscapes, glitchy electronics and skyscraper-sized riffs with gut-wrenching vulnerability.
Bad/Love – ‘What’s Left Here?’
Guitarist Lachlan Monty says the song was born from a place of “absolute emotional collapse”, written after losing a close friend to suicide. What began as anger eventually transformed into raw self-reflection as he grappled with his own struggles.
“Though it came from my darkest moment, I was lucky to have friends, family and therapy help pull me through,” Monty explains in a press statement. “This song is proof that even in the darkest times, there is hope – and help is out there.”
With this powerful new single, an imminent showcase at BIGSOUND and a co-headline slot at the inaugural Converge Festival in Brisbane and Melbourne next month (not to mention a cheeky sideshow in Sydney), Bad/Love are setting themselves up for a breakthrough year. And with their freshly inked deal with UK/EU powerhouse Echelon Artists (home to scene titans like All That Remains and Trash Boat), the band are primed to take their arena-ready sound global.
“For a band so early on in its career, Bad/Love is already releasing arena-ready anthems that showcase impeccable songwriting abilities,” says Stephen Moss of Echelon Artists. “Alternative music is well and truly on the rise and Bad/Love is heading to the forefront.”
Following their ambitious Mono No Aware EP trilogy in 2024, which clocked millions of streams, the new single marks Bad/Love’s most ambitious moment yet – taking cues from heavy hitters like Bad Omens and Sleep Token while carving out their own identity. Having already toured with the likes of Caskets, Sleeping With Sirens and Atreyu, the band’s future is looking meteoric.
Bad/Love’s ‘What’s Left Here?’ is out now and you can take it for a spin up above or else catch their forthcoming Aussie live dates down below, before they inevitably start tearing up stages on the other side of the globe.
