Oasis dedicated ‘Live Forever’ to the victims of the Minneapolis church shooting at the first of their giant New Jersey shows.
The North American leg of the Oasis Live ‘25 tour rolled into MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford on Sunday night (August 31) and the band used the gig to offer their support to the families affected by the tragedy.
“I want to dedicate this next tune to the kiddies from Minneapolis,” Liam Gallagher told the crowd. “Live forever.”
Last Wednesday (August 27), a shooter targeted a group of people outside the Church of the Annunciation in Minneapolis before morning mass, killing two children and injuring eighteen others. The perpetrator then killed himself.

It is not the first time that the band have dedicated songs to recently deceased figures – on the opening night of the tour in Cardiff, they paid tribute to the late Liverpool footballer Diogo Jota, while one of the Wembley Stadium shows saw them dedicate ‘Rock ‘N’ Roll Star’ to Ozzy Osbourne.
The MetLife show saw the band perform the same 23-song setlist they have played at every one of the Oasis Live ‘25 shows. Noel Gallagher’s friend Matt Morgan recently revealed that the guitarist told him that he does not plan to mix up the setlists, saying he “likes it like that”.
Oasis play a second night in the MetLife Stadium on Monday night (September 1), before heading to Pasadena and Mexico City, before heading back for two extra shows at Wembley Stadium at the end of the month. They go on to play South Korea, Japan, Australia, Argentina, Chile and Brazil before the end of the year.
NME gave Oasis’ historic first comeback concert at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium a glowing five-star review, writing: “After a ‘90s heyday and an often maligned post-millennium era, this is Oasis redesigned for the 21st Century.”
“Playing before a pop-art-meets-psychedelia visual spectacular that never distracts but will look sick on a phone, they seem the quintessential stadium band playing the greatest hits of greatest hits.”
Noel also spoke recently about the “great” experience of being back on tour with his brother Liam, saying he had forgotten “how funny” he is, adding that he is “smashing it” and he is “proud of him”.
