English Teacher, girli, and Katy J Pearson are set to perform some intimate live shows as part of War Child’s ‘Day Of The Girl’. Check out the details below.

The three new shows will take place across the UK in support of the charity, which works to protect, educate and stand up for the rights of children living in war zones across the world. All will be held as part of ‘Day Of The Girl’ – which helps provide a lifeline for girls and women living through war, and has raised £250,000 for War Child since it’s launch in 2021.

Shows for 2025 kick off with girli, with the alt-pop star taking to the stage at London’s Oslo on October 9. She has become recognised for her sharp social commentary, DIY-inspired pop production, and unapologetic lyrics that dive into identity, sexuality, and mental health.

Speaking about being involved in the charity events, girli said: “Girls are the group most affected by war worldwide so I’m really excited to be raising money with War Child for Day of the Girl.”

For English Teacher, the 2024 Mercury Prize winners will perform at Liverpool’s Hangar 34 on October 10 – bringing their signature blend of indie rock to the stage in a bid to raise money for the good causes.

Finally, Katy J Pearson will perform on Sunday October 12 to close out the event, bringing her captivating live show to London’s iconic The 100 Club.

Announcing the news, she said: “I will be playing a gig at The 100 Club on the 12th of October with two of my favourite artists supporting, Sarah Meth & Jimmy Means Smut. This gig will be raising money to provide vital support to women in war zones. Thank you to War Child for having me!”

Tickets go on sale on Friday (September 5) at 10am BST, and pre-sale options open tomorrow at 2pm. Visit here to buy tickets, and here for pre-sale access.

The efforts from War Child come as around 612million women and girls worldwide are currently living in conflict zones – a 50 per cent increase that of 10 years ago. It also comes as those assigned female at birth suffer 95 per cent of all sexual violence, and are two-and-a-hald-times more likely to be out of school.

Previous performances to raise money as part of the ‘Day Of The Girl’ shows have come from the likes of Griff, Lola Young, Olivia Dean and Bree Runway.

Live Music Lead at War Child, Clare Sanders-Wright, said: “‘Day of the Girl’ is back again, and we’re so grateful to the incredible artists and their fabulous teams for donating their time and talents to perform this year. We couldn’t do this without them.

“Their support not only makes these shows unforgettable for music lovers, but helps us raise much-needed funds and awareness for girls living with and processing the impact of conflicts around the world. Together, we’re celebrating their strength while making a meaningful impact on children’s lives, helping them to live up to their full potential, despite the trauma they’ve been forced to endure.”

Communion ONE is generously acting as promoter partner and DHL has kindly sponsored the event. You can find out more about War Child and ‘Day Of The Girl’ here.

In other music-related efforts to raise money for the charity, earlier this year Record Store Day shared a number of releases exclusive for the edition, with profits going to War Child. Before then, George Underwood – the artist behind some of David Bowie‘s most iconic album covers – donated a painting to a War Child charity exhibition to help raise awareness and funds for the good causes.
