Hong Kong festival Clockenflap has announced the first names for its 2025 edition. Find all the details below.

The event is due to take place at Central Harbourfront between Friday December 5 and Sunday December 7. Tickets are on sale now – you can buy yours here.

This year, Clockenflap – Hong Kong’s biggest international outdoor music and arts festival – boasts “a stellar line-up of global talent that showcases some of the most amazing names in music from the east and the west”, per a press release.

Names include Franz Ferdinand, Sparks, Beth Gibbons, Jacob Collier, Rich Brian, Passenger, Soccer Mommy, TV Girl and Godspeed You! Black Emperor.

Elsewhere on the bill are Japanese superstar VAUNDY, Mandarin pop artist Yoga Lin, Japanese indie-pop act Chilli Bean, French nu-disco group L’Imperatrice, US singer-songwriter Jeremy Zucker, Thai vocalist Phum Viphurit, Japanese duo RIKON, and rising Japanese vocalist/songwriter Akasaki.

Clockenflap 2025 will feature six stages in total, offering up a “broad range of global talent”.

Other highlights include DJ duo Johnny Takigero and Pesky Azabu Punks, and Hong Kong shoegaze band Chung’s Astrology. The latter will pay tribute to the late Hong Kong indie legend Kwan King Chung – the group’s founding member – by performing his final works at Clockenflap.

Organisers have promised that “many more epic acts” for the 2025 festival will be confirmed “soon”. Check out the line-up for Clockenflap 2025 so far above, and find more information here.

Sparks’ upcoming slot at the event will mark the duo’s first-ever show in Hong Kong. The band released their latest studio album, ‘Mad!’, in May.

In a four-star review of Clockenflap 2023,  NME said that the site “offered stunning views of the harbour, the iconic Observation Wheel, and the city skyline – a treat for tourists only in town for the festival”.

“The strong multi-genre line-up catered to diverse audiences while mixing it up with local and regional acts, reeling in all kinds of attendees,” it continued.

“The mix of an amazing line-up with a crowd yearning for a good time truly made Clockenflap 2023 a success, and what felt like a start of Hong Kong’s post-pandemic renaissance.”
