They’re the only people who understand

Noel Gallagher‘s daughter Anaïs has spoken about watching Oasis‘ reunion shows with her cousins, saying that “they’re the only people who understand”.

The photographer and videographer – who has previously worked on projects for her father – spoke to Grazia about attending 12 consecutive Live ’25 gigs this summer. “I’ll never get bored of the shows,” she told the publication, echoing recent comments in a separate interview.

“The crowds are phenomenal. I’ve been getting pretty emotional every night just seeing how joyous it makes everyone,” Anaïs continued, though she admitted to being “a bit sick of the bucket hats”.

She went on to talk about going to the massive concerts with her cousins, Lennon and Gene Gallagher. “They’re the only people who fully understand what’s going on and how crazy it is, the before and after,” Anaïs explained.

“We were brought up the same. We share the same incredible grandmother [Peggy Gallagher], but I am her favourite. She’s the coolest person ever, but she’s not arsed. She’s the opposite of a stage mum. She’s like, ‘It’s not for me’.”

Elsewhere in the conversation, Anaïs compared Oasis’ 2025 comeback tour to Taylor Swift’s record-breaking ‘Eras Tour’ – which she said “wasn’t very cross generational [or] multi-gendered”.

“It was women in their early twenties,” she added. “That was great and I felt like I was part of a community, because they were my people. But looking out into the crowd at the Oasis shows, there are so many people of different ages, and men and women…”

Anaïs, whose mother is Meg Mathews, has two younger half-brothers, Donovan (17) and Sonny (15). Their mother is Noel’s ex-wife Sara MacDonald; the pair announced their divorce in 2023.

Back in March, Anaïs starred in a smartphone advert alongside Gene Gallagher and her other cousin, Molly Moorish-Gallagher. The latter did not meet her father Liam until 2018, when he shared a photo of himself and Molly, along with his sons Gene and Lennon.

This April, Liam said he had spent a “BIBLICAL Easter Sunday” with his brother Noel and his nephews, Donovan and Sonny, ahead of Oasis starting rehearsals for their Live ’25 tour.

“It was absolutely incredible to meet the young guvs I obviously blew [their] minds coz im cool as fuck you heard it here 1st,” he wrote at the time.

Anaïs previously hit out at the “ageism” and “misogyny” on social media following Oasis’ reunion announcement. After the concerts got underway, she revealed she had been inundated with questions about tickets from Oasis fans, saying: “What the fuck do I know about Ticketmaster?”

Late last year, Blossoms claimed Anaïs “didn’t have a clue” that her father and uncle would be reuniting to tour again in 2025: “She was texting around people she knew to find out if it was true. She got no word.”

Speaking on BBC Radio’s Manchester’s Mad For Oasis show, which she presents, Anaïs recently revealed that she had managed to catch the first 12 reunion shows before needing to take a break. “I’ve been burning the candle at both ends,” she admitted.

“I’m knackered, I don’t know how my dad and uncle do it when they’re actually working on stage every night. It’s been great. One of my friends said to me, ‘Are you not getting bored?’ and I’m like, I could never get bored of the shows, they’re just that good that I have an amazing time.”

Last year saw Gene Gallagher’s band Villanelle support Liam on his ‘Definitely Maybe’ 30th anniversary solo tour. Liam once described Gene’s music as “in your face, Arctic Monkeys-style”, compared to his brother Lennon (Automotion) – whose material is more “spaced out, like early Verve, pretty chilled”.

Earlier this summer, Anaïs said she had no plans to pursue a music career. “It’s safe to say there is not an inherent Gallagher musical gene,” she explained.

Oasis are currently on the North American leg of their Live ’25 reunion tour. Following gigs in Los Angeles and Mexico City, the band will head back to London for two more shows at Wembley Stadium on September 27 and 28.

Additionally, the band will visit South America, Australia, South Korea and Japan later in the year.

NME gave the opening night in Cardiff a glowing five-star review. “After a ‘90s heyday and an often maligned post-millennium era, this is Oasis redesigned for the 21st Century,” it read.

“Playing before a pop-art-meets-psychedelia visual spectacular that never distracts but will look sick on a phone, they seem the quintessential stadium band playing the greatest hits of greatest hits.”

Oasis have released official live versions of tracks from some cities on the Live ’25 tour. So far we’ve had ‘Slide Away’ from Cardiff, ‘Cigarettes & Alcohol’ from Manchester, ‘Little By Little’ from London and ‘Bring It On Down’ from Edinburgh.
