Cosmic Psychos have announced their 12th studio album, I Really Like Beer, and a massive Australian tour to go with it. The follow-up to 2021’s Mountain Of Piss is slated for release on Friday, November 7th – which, coincidentally, is the same date the pub-rock band’s 41-date Australian tour kicks off in Frankston. The full list of tour dates, and more info on the album, can be found below.

To launch the album, the band have shared a music video for its opening number and lead single ‘I Like Beer’. Directed by Anthony Hayes, the clip depicts the band – vocalist/bassist Ross Knight and guitarist John “Mad Macka” McKeering – showering with cans of beer, having some with their breakfast of dim sims and cigarettes, and enjoying some more as the sun goes down. Watch below.

Cosmic Psychos – ‘I Like Beer’

I Really Like Beer was recorded with producer Paul Maybury – who has previously made albums with bands like King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, Cable Ties, Rocket Science and Bench Press. It is the band’s first to be recorded as a duo, with former drummer Dean Muller – who was with the band since 2005 – seemingly out of the picture indefinitely due to a shoulder surgery. He is not in the band’s new press photos, and has not been mentioned since his October 2024 departure. Dune Rats‘ BC Michaels has been filling in on drums, although it’s not known if he played on I Really Like Beer.

The band’s exhaustive I Really Like Beer tour will take place across two legs. The first runs through the entire month of November 2025, with Mudhoney drummer Dan Peters playing with Knight and McKeering due to Michaels’ commitments with Dune Rats. Michaels will return to the drum throne in January and February 2026, where the tour resumes on New Year’s Day. Bellarine Peninsula duo Good Sniff will serve as main support on the entire run. “We made a record about beer, so now we’re going to play it in as many pubs as possible,” said Knight in a press statement. “Simple.”
