CMAT has announced her return to Australia, which will take place almost exactly a year after her first trip here in January of 2026. The acclaimed Irish singer-songwriter will be touring in support of her recently-released third studio album Euro-Country, which was released late last month on Friday, August 29th. The full list of tour dates, as well as pre-sale and ticketing info, can be found below.
It was earlier this year, in January of 2025, that CMAT made her Australian debut as part of the line-up for A Day On The Green. There, she performed alongside The Teskey Brothers, Band Of Horses, Sierra Ferrell and Charlie Needs Braces – as well as playing her own headlining shows in Sydney and Melbourne – supported by Killing Heidi vocalist, fellow alt-country singer-songwriter Ella Hooper.
CMAT – ‘Take A Sexy Picture Of Me’
Since she performed in Australia, CMAT’s profile has raised exponentially. ‘Take A Sexy Picture Of Me’, the second single to be lifted from Euro-Country, was a viral success on TikTok and saw her making her UK Singles Chart debut. The album’s title track, too, has become her most successful single to date in her native Ireland, peaking at number nine on the Irish Singles Chart.
Euro-Country itself debuted at number one on the Irish Albums Chart, marking a hat trick following her 2022 debut If My Wife New I’d Be Dead and its 2023 follow-up Crazymad, For Me also accomplishing the same feat. The album also debuted at number two on both the UK and Scotland’s albums chart, marking her first time in the top ten for either. It is nominated for the 2025 Mercury Prize, alongside FKA Twigs, PinkPantheress, Sam Fender, Pulp and fellow Irish act Fontaines D.C.
In a press statement, CMAT has described Euro-Country as “the best thing I have ever made”. “I felt halfway through recording it was the most important record I’ve made for myself… mainly because it was making me go crazy,” she said. “I’m always going to make the work I want to make, because there is a little gremlin in my head that tells me if it’s shit. More than success, there’s a bigger gremlin that wants me to make music that’s really good. She’s brutal and has ruined my life at times, but she is the keeper of my life and she’s always right.”
