Halo fans are convinced multiple new games will be announced later this month after Halo Studios confirmed a “deep dive” presentation.
Last October, Halo developers 343 Studios announced a rebrand as Halo Studios and confirmed “multiple” new titles were currently in development. The six-minute ‘New Dawn’ video featured a number of Halo-inspired locations, created using advanced game engine Unreal 5, as well as interviews with senior developers. “I think fans are going to be excited about the future of Halo because of the possibilities that are afforded us by using Unreal,” explained lead animator Marcellis Wentz.
“We’re entering the next chapter of the franchise and changing the recipe for how we make Halo games,” added a statement from Halo Studios. However, no firm details were shared and the studio has been very quiet over the past 12 months.
That’s set to change later this month. As part of the World Championship that is taking place in Seattle between October 24 and 26, Halo Studios will be hosting a deep dive presentation and giving fans an update on the various projects.
“Back in June we let the community know that we’d be continuing the conversation from last year’s Halo World Championship and the ‘A New Dawn’ video and sharing more about what we’ve been working on. Like last year we’ll be on the Main Stage to talk about it but this year we’ve also got a ‘deep dive’ panel planned for the Community Stage that you won’t want to miss,” reads a dedicated blog post. Both presentations will take place October 24.
Following the update, fans have been speculating about what will be announced. “While it’s pretty much a given we’ll see the Halo: Combat Evolved remake, I really hope they show off a dedicated multiplayer title as well that’s Infinite 2.0. Give us a dedicated multiplayer game that’s actually made correctly from the start,” wrote one Reddit user. “I’m still delulu about hoping that the Halo: Master Chief Collection appears on Switch 2 or PS5 with split screen support. It might be a long shot, but I can still dream,” added another. “I just want the series to be good again. A great campaign and great multiplayer is all I ask for,” said a third.
The last major Halo game was 2021’s much-delayed Infinite but this year, a collab with Helldivers 2 went live and reports say the series could be coming to PlayStation for the very first time.
In other news Bloober Team, the studio behind last year’s ace Silent Hill 2 Remake, has confirmed they’re now working on a remake of the original Silent Hill.
