MGK has praised Oasis‘ “fire” London show, adding that “Liam just had the swag”.

The rapper-turned-rockstar made the remarks on BBC Radio 1, where he said he was “on this trajectory of wanting to be a stadium act”. MGK went on to cite The Stones and Oasis as inspirations, commenting that he had seen the latter at their huge Wembley shows.

“I’ve been an Oasis diehard since I first heard them twenty years ago – before I was ten years,” he told Ricky, Melvin and Charlie. “Zero production, just a great rock band playing great rock music. It was amazing.”

He went on to praise Liam Gallagher, saying he “just had the swag”. MGK added that although he had watched Liam perform at Reading & Leeds years ago touring a solo record “which I liked”, it wasn’t the same “when it was him and his brother”.

MGK also told his favourite Liam Gallagher story, sharing that he spotted the star drinking in the communal courtyard in the artist’s area of Pinkpop Festival. “That day specifically I wore a pretty green parka that I drew all over – [I] wrote a bunch of lyrics all over the parka,” he recalled.

“I went over and sat on a bench right by him on purpose, hoping he would peep that I had a parka and come talk to me. He comes up to me and goes, ‘Wow, you really messed that thing up, didn’t you?’ It was fire – it was exactly what I wanted from that.”

Oasis have just wrapped up their UK leg of their massive OASIS LIVE ’25 tour, playing their final night at Wembley on September 28.

Brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher first took to the stage for the first time in 16 years in Cardiff back in July, with NME writing a five-star review writing it was “all you ever would have wanted from Oasis in 2025”.

They would then play a set of homecoming shows in Manchester and their first run of Wembley gigs, before kicking off a North American leg in Toronto.

The band is set to play 13 remaining dates remaining across Asia, Australia and South America. They also have a reunion film produced by Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight in the works, alongside an ‘OASIS LIVE ’25 OPUS’ book featuring their reunion shoot and live tour photos.

Meanwhile, their 30th anniversary reissue of their seminal album ‘(What’s The Story) Morning Glory?’ arrived last Friday (October 3) via Big Brother Recordings.

Meanwhile, MGK announced his massive ‘Lost Americana tour’ of North America, UK, Europe, Australia and New Zealand, set to kick off this November.

The musician will take a number of acts to support him throughout the tour including Wiz Khalifa, Julia Wolf, honestav, Beauty School Dropout, DE’WAYNE, Mod Sun, and Emo Night – see all dates here. You can also visit here for UK tickets, here for US and European tickets, and here for tickets to Australia and New Zealand shows.

He will tour his album ‘Lost Americana’, which saw MGK team up with Bob Dylan to help promote his new album. He later joked that he had “no idea” how he secured the folk legend to narrate the teaser video, adding that it came out of “pure desperation” and him “just knocking on [Dylan’s] door relentlessly, not going away”.

Elsewhere, MGK will mark the ‘Tickets To My Downfall’ fifth anniversary with “five unreleased songs from that era”.
