Sound the alarm (and the eyeliner): it looks like Yungblud is finally bringing the chaos back down under.
The UK alt-rock wild child has set Aussie fans into a full-blown frenzy after dropping a cryptic message on his Instagram fan channel this week: “AUSTRALIA I have good news… eyes peeled.”
“We definitely have plans to come to Australia”
The tease comes just months after he told Rolling Stone AU/NZ that he “definitely” planned to head our way in support of his upcoming fourth album, IDOLS.
“There’s a tour in the works because we’re doing a world tour [for the album],” Yungblud revealed. “Obviously we’re going to America, and Europe, and the UK, but after that we definitely have plans to come to Australia.”
Not only is the Doncaster-born hitmaker promising a tour – he’s also apparently keen to bring his DIY festival Bludfest to our shores. The event launched in the UK last year with ticket prices deliberately capped to make live music more accessible.
“I know the Australian festival market has been struggling,” he told RS. “I really want to try my best to implement a new idea with Bludfest because it worked in the UK… We’re already talking about taking it to Paris, Prague and Latin America.”
And if all that wasn’t enough of a hint, Frontier Touring have also joined the tease train, sharing a cryptic countdown and confirming that an IDOLS announcement is dropping this Tuesday, October 14 (suss above)
“YOU’LL LOVE EVERY MOMENT, BELIEVE ME,” it says.
So yep – an announcement is coming on Tuesday. Hold onto your butts.
