Australia’s most iconic heavy-music haunt Crowbar is officially hitting teenage territory, celebrating its 13th birthday this December with a week-long blowout across Sydney and Brisbane – and it’s shaping up to be an all-out riot of riffs, sweat, and beer-soaked nostalgia.
Since opening its doors in 2012, Crowbar has become the beating heart of Australia’s live music underground – hosting thousands of bands, countless chaotic nights, and pouring more schooners than anyone dares to count. Now, the beloved venue is marking the milestone the only way it knows how: with five days of chaos across two cities, and some of the biggest names in Aussie rock and metal ripping up the stage.
13 years of blood, sweat and beers
In Sydney, the carnage kicks off Wednesday, December 17, with RedHook’s emotionally charged, genre-smashing rock show. Then The Chats bring their trademark punk mayhem on Thursday, followed by death metal legends Cryptopsy on Friday, Aussie icons Spiderbait on Saturday, and a ~mystery headliner~ to cap things off on Sunday.
Up in Brisbane, the madness mirrors the energy – with The Buoys, Spiderbait, Cryptopsy, The Chats, and another secret act all joining the festivities. Every ticket puts you in the draw to win a brand-new Fender guitar, with the whole thing backed by Jack Daniels, Jägermeister, Coopers Brewery, Heaps Normal, Born Dry, and Poppelvej.
So get ready to toast 13 years of blood, sweat and beers for Crowie’s bday bonanza. Tickets are on sale now and you can peep all the details down below.
