The song confronts my childhood trauma and the ways it held me back, while capturing the process of rebuilding my relationship with music after feeling overwhelmed by some early attention I found on SoundCloud (after winning one of Kenny Beats’ beat battles at age 16). birds! is a love letter to myself, a reminder that music is not just a craft but a lifeline.
