British singer and songwriter Diana Vickers follows on from her summer comeback single Ice Cream with the anthemic new bop Pretty Boys.
Co-written by Diana, Dee Adam (Tom Grennan, Baby Queen) and George Glew (Deaf Havana), Pretty Boys is a shimmering, tongue-in-cheek pop anthem about self-worth, sexual confidence, and breaking toxic patterns. I am really enjoying the razor-sharp lyrics and how they are conveyed through Diana’s unmistakable, confident vocals. I am really enjoying the memorable driving beat throughout the song and how it is nicely intertwined with steady beats, glistening synths and rhythms that culminate into an infectious chorus perfect to sing along to. This is a playful, fearless, and unapologetically feminine gem that marks a new era for the British singer.
Accompanying the release, Diana Vickers shares the Leo Cackett-directed music video that unfolds as a sequence of bold, cinematic vignettes that blur the line between fantasy and reality.
After my type always turned out to be the toxic narcissist and after spending hours in my therapist’s chair -I decided it was time for a change. Honestly, I recommend going for the pretty boys, because they do it better. Pretty Boys is about reclaiming my power and stepping into my most confident, sexual energy. In the video, I’m channelling my inner Sharon Stone in Basic Instinct -unapologetic, dangerous, and completely in control.
