Meanjin/Brisbane indie-rock risers Lucid Safari are back in full stride with their glowing new single ‘Running’, a dream-drenched anthem produced by Blake Malone (Amy Shark, Tia Gostelow, Budjerah).
Equal parts nostalgic and forward-facing, ‘Running’ fuses alt-rock sparkle with modern indie polish, pairing glittering guitars, dynamic percussion and Daniel Lewis’ heartfelt vocals to capture that familiar ache of the one who got away.
LUCID SAFARI – ‘RUNNING’
“‘Running’ is about that ache you feel for someone you never really got the chance to know,” says Lewis. “It’s that unspoken connection that lingers – you’re replaying moments, chasing fragments and memories that never quite left you.”
With a sound that nods to The Jungle Giants, The Temper Trap and The Wombats, Lucid Safari channel coastal warmth and melancholy in equal measure. Already making waves in the national scene, from supporting British India, Kate Miller-Heidke and Ian Moss, to selling out their own headline show at Brisbane’s Black Bear Lodge, the five-piece continue their rise as one of Australia’s most exciting emerging indie acts.
Take ‘Running’ for a spin up above.
