American indie-pop project GOODTWIN share their brand new single Fool, a disco-tinged pop-rock song.
What I like the most about this song is its warmth and retro vibes which set the tone for a memorable and comforting listening experience.
The emotive voice softly repeats the intrusive thoughts that arise when worry hits: “Did I make a fool?”. Written by band members Gus Alexander (vocals), Denis Victorov (bass & synth), and Cameron Mehrabian (guitar) – and also features Zac Hernandez on drums -, Fool transports listeners into the world of disco and soothes listeners with a sense of self-compassion and emotion. This song is about liberating yourself from that anxious morning-after spiral — that pit in your stomach that wonders, ‘Did I say too much? Am I too much? Did I make a fool?’. We now almost always end our sets with ‘Fool.’ It’s a ritual of letting go, accepting what we just did, and moving on. And it helps!
The song is paired with a striking music video, directed by Teddy Alexander , that is set at a buzzing party, which follows an uptight clown who becomes free and actualized as the track progresses.
