Arch Enemy have announced they have parted ways with frontwoman Alissa White-Gluz.

She joined the band in 2014, after replacing Angela Gossow, who decided to step away from the Swedish melodic death metal band, but remained their business manager. Previously, White-Gluz was a founding member of metalcore band The Agonist.

White-Gluz worked on four of Arch Enemy’s albums including ‘War Eternal’ (2014), 2017’s ‘Will To Power’, ‘Deceivers’ (2022), and this year’s ‘Blood Dynasty’.

In a statement, the band said: “Arch Enemy have parted ways with singer Alissa White-Gluz. We’re thankful for the time and music we’ve shared and wish her all the best. Wherever there is an ending, there is also a beginning. See you in 2026.”

She also shared a statement and announced plans to embark on a solo career.

She added: “After 12 years in Arch Enemy, we have parted ways. I am forever thankful to the thousands of amazing fans I have met along the way. Thank you, Beastlings! I can’t wait to share what I have been working on with you all (with some big surprises in store). Stay tuned for big news in 2026 and see you very soon.”

In a follow up post, she also dropped her first solo single ‘The Room Where She Died’ and wrote: “I hope you love this first offering from my upcoming solo album” before adding: “This upcoming album is diverse; and I love the idea of opening up this new chapter with this song and video, which I wrote the script for. Can’t wait to share more with you!” You can listen to it below.

In the past, she previously teamed up with power metal outfit DragonForce for a cover of Taylor Swift‘s ‘Wildest Dreams’.

Arch Enemy have released 11 studio albums altogether and originally formed from a supergroup in 1995.

They recently wrapped up their European tour and are scheduled to perform at several festivals next summer. The band have not yet announced a replacement for White-Gluz.
