Robbie Williams has shared an update on his parents’ health saying it is “very precarious right now”.

The former Take That singer is currently in the middle of his UK tour and he recently shared a post on Instagram, informing fans about his well-being and how the tour is going.

Sharing an update on his own health, Williams said: “Well I’ve been ill with some sort of virus for a couple of weeks, which is making me feel very weak. It’s par for the course on tours. Everyone gets something, in the past, though, I would have been paralysed with fear.”

He then shared: “Things at home with my parents? VERY precarious right now. It’s real-world stuff that deeply affects me and my wife. And if my wife is affected you can bet I am. So the maths are: Virus + ill parents + stadium tour.

“Every single moment of every single day is in preparation for those 2+ hours on stage. Outside of that? I have nothing’. There is nothing to offer. I don’t mind stating to those around me, I need protecting. And in return I protect them”

Williams previously announced his mother Janet had been diagnosed with dementia in November 2024.

Earlier this week, he told The Sun: “My mother has dementia and she doesn’t know who I am anymore. She doesn’t know where she is anymore.”

He also revealed his father Pete has Parkinson’s disease and struggles to be as social as he once was adding: “He used to sing with me every night on stage, he would come out, steal the show and be charming and then wander backstage for a glass of red wine. Now he can’t leave the house.”

Earlier this week, Williams shared a stacked playlist of ‘British Pop’ exclusively for NME, as well as dropping his anthemic single ‘Spies’ and the tracklist for new album ‘Britpop’.

The playlist featured the likes of Johnny Marr and Bernard Sumner’s Electronic, McAlmont And Butler, Richard Hawley both solo and with Longpigs, David Bowie, The 1975, and past collaborators Pet Shop Boys. He also included a track by Morrissey, who he has written a song about for the new album.

Speaking to NME about his guitar-heavy new sound earlier this summer, Williams revealed: “I was playing it safe and I’ve not been driving my own car. I’ve not had my hands on the wheel through second-thinking myself and guessing what people like. I just wanted to do something that I like.”

Williams will release ‘Britpop’ on October 10. Pre-order it here. Fans who pre-order the album will receive early access to future UK 2025 live dates. Visit here for tickets and more information.
