From high school jam sessions to international stages — The Rions have come a long way since winning triple j’s Unearthed High back in 2021. Now, the Eora/Sydney indie faves are finally ready to drop their long-awaited debut album.
Dubbed Everything Every Single Day, the LP is due to land on October 3rd, and to celebrate the big news, the band have shared a fresh single and their biggest national tour yet.
The Rions – ‘Tonight’s Entertainment’
New track ‘Tonight’s Entertainment’ is a glass-raised anthem to The Rions’ ride so far — equal parts gratitude and glow-up.
“We wouldn’t change a thing,” the band says, reflecting on their journey from rehearsal rooms to sold-out shows around the world. Built around a piano riff noodled backstage in Canberra (as all great ideas are), it’s the kind of feelgood tune engineered to hit even harder live — which is handy, seeings as how they’re taking it on the road.
Presented by triple j, The Rions’ Everything Every Single Day tour will hit theatre venues across Meanjin/Brisbane, Eora/Sydney, Naarm/Melbourne, nipaluna/Hobart and Tarndanya/Adelaide this October, before the boys head off to conquer the UK and Europe.
A cheeky little Spilt Milk lap across Aus will follow in December too (just in case you missed them the first time), with the band joining the behemoth 2025 Spilt lineup alongside big names like Kendrick Lamar, ScHoolboy Q, Dominic Fike and more.
As for the album itself, it’s something of a 13 track time capsule for The Rions.
“It’s the most open wound we’ve allowed the world to see so far,” the band explain. “Our triumphs, regrets, shortcomings, philosophies, hopes and dreams — all on a silver platter.”
Meanwhile, a love letter to buskers forms the heart of the ‘Tonight’s Entertainment’ music video — featuring a colourful cast of characters from Ziggy Stardust to Ringo Starr and even Harry Styles.
