Get ready to crank ‘Santa Monica’ at full volume and scream along to ‘Heroin Girl’ like it’s 1995 again — Everclear are coming back to Australia for a massive 16-date national tour, celebrating the 30th anniversary of their breakthrough album, Sparkle and Fade.
Yep, the iconic ‘90s alt-rockers led by the ever-charismatic Art Alexakis will be bringing the nostalgia and the noise this November and December, hitting capital cities and regional spots alike — from Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth and Canberra to Townsville, Duncraig, Newcastle and Adelaide.
Everclear – ‘Santa Monica’
Released in 1995, Sparkle and Fade was a pop-rock lightning bolt that launched Everclear into the stratosphere, thanks to its raw honesty, gritty hooks and undeniable bangers, with tracks like ‘Santa Monica’, ‘Heartspark Dollarsign’ and ‘Heroin Girl’ quickly becoming the soundtrack for a generation of alt-rock misfits.
Now, 30 years on, Everclear are giving fans the ultimate throwback gift: a tour that’ll see them play pretty much the whole album live, alongside all the hits and fan faves from across their three-decade career.
“Sparkle and Fade was the album I had wanted to make my whole life,” Alexakis says in a press statement. “It changed everything for me and Everclear. This tour is a way of saying thank you to the incredible fans — old and new — who’ve kept these songs alive.”
