American artist Jesse Blake Rundle shares his brand new single Knife, a heartbreak song about someone that couldn’t receive love.
Taken from his new album Wait, Sky, out now via Doe Records, Knife is a raw and emotional listening experience that finds the talented artist opening up and showing a vulnerable side, pouring his heart out, trying to unravel why his relationship failed. It reflects the pain of heartbreak and mourning the relationship despite all the effort and emotional investment he put in. A message flawlessly conveyed through his smooth, emotionally-charged vocals and harmonies which are accompanied by intricate guitar plucks nicely intertwined with airy atmospherics and beats that come together to create an overall heartfelt and intimate atmosphere!
I arrived at my first artist residency in May 2025, still reeling from a break. The morning I arrived, I sat down and wrote this song. I was fresh out of a relationship that had wrecked me, for many reasons, and everything was raw. The writing sessions were half singing half crying at that point (lol) but it was cathartic and my body needed it.
So this song, called KNIFE, is trying to unravel whatever tf was going on between me and him. Why it failed and how sad it is when some things simply can’t be fixed. We can’t heal other people.
