Robbie Williams has announced an intimate London gig where he will play both ‘Life Thru A Lens’ and ‘BRITPOP’ in full.

The singer is preparing to release his 13th album ‘BRITPOP’ on October 10 – pre-order it here – and he has so far shared the singles ‘Rocket’, featuring Tony Iommi, and ‘Spies’.

He has also been playing a number of major shows in the UK and around Europe this summer, and now he has announced a much different show – at Dingwalls in Camden on the eve of the album’s release.

It will be the most intimate show of the former Take That man’s career and it will see him play ‘BRITPOP’ in full for the first time, as well as his 1997 debut solo record ‘Life Thru A Lens’. The latter saw him embracing some of the Britpop sounds of the day and included the singles ‘Angels’, ‘Let Me Entertain You’ and ‘Old Before I Die’.

Fans who pre-order ‘BRITPOP’ will receive early access to tickets for the show and you can find more information here.

As well as Black Sabbath legend Iommi, it has also been revealed that the new album will feature appearances from Coldplay’s Chris Martin, Gaz Coombes of Supergrass, Mexican pop duo Jesse & Joy and his former bandmate Gary Barlow.

Last month, Williams shared an exclusive playlist of ‘British Pop’ for NME, including music from the likes of Johnny Marr and Bernard Sumner’s Electronic, McAlmont And Butler, Richard Hawley both solo and with Longpigs, David Bowie, The 1975, and past collaborators Pet Shop Boys.

Speaking to NME about his guitar-heavy new sound earlier this summer, Williams revealed: “I was playing it safe and I’ve not been driving my own car. I’ve not had my hands on the wheel through second-thinking myself and guessing what people like. I just wanted to do something that I like.”

Check out the album artwork for ‘BRITPOP’ above, which features a painting of Robbie wearing a red tracksuit during his memorable appearance at Glastonbury in 1995, where he famously hung out with Noel and Liam Gallagher. He returned to Worthy Farm in June to install a blue plaque to commemorate the events.
