Meredith Music Festival has announced headlining shows for three of its key international visitors – namely TV On The Radio, Perfume Genius and Bar Italia. All three indie-rock acts will perform along the east coast of Australia, weaving in and around their appearance at the regional Victorian festival. The full list of sideshow dates for each act, as well as ticketing information, can be found below.
TV On The Radio will be returning to Australia for the first time in over a decade, having last performed in Australia as part of the Vivid LIVE festivities in 2015 – which saw them make their Sydney Opera House debut. The band entered a largely inactive period following their Seeds world tour, performing only occasionally up until around 2019. The band reunited in 2024, without co-founding guitarist Dave Sitek, and have been touring extensively for the last year. Frontman Tunde Adebimpe also launched a solo career this year, releasing his debut album Thee Black Boltz.

Perfume Genius, meanwhile, returns after over three years. His last tour, with longtime collaborator and live bandmate Hand Habits, took place in June 2022 – coincidentally, also as part of that year’s Vivid programming. While he performed at Carriageworks last time, this run of dates will see him make his Opera House debut in support of his seventh studio album Glory, released in March.
“Perfume Genius is at once raw and theatrical – a soul-baring artist whose emotionally arresting soundscapes and clear-eyed vulnerability have cemented his place as one of the most compelling voices in alternative music today,” said Ben Marshall, the Opera House’s Head Of Contemporary Music. “To witness that kind of emotional intensity and artistic precision in the sweeping Concert Hall promises to be a profoundly transcendent and intimate experience – one that will move, comfort, challenge and inspire.”
Bar Italia made their Australian debut in June 2024, performing at Melbourne’s RISING festival as well as their own sold-out shows in Sydney and Brisbane. Since they were last here, the UK-based post-punk and art-rock trio have finished work on their fifth studio album. Titled Some Like It Hot, it is slated for release via Matador Records in October, two months before their Australian return.
