Tasmania’s Great Escape Festival is back to send off 2025 in style, with a three-day New Year’s bash at Redbanks, Nugent (less than an hour out of Hobart). Running from Monday, 29th December to Thursday, 1st January 2026, the festival’s sixth edition is shaping up to be one of its strongest yet.
This year’s all-Aussie lineup is stacked with familiar favourites, led by Spacey Jane, Lime Cordiale, The Presets (in DJ mode), Thelma Plum and San Cisco. They’ll be joined by Hockey Dad, The Buoys, Dear Seattle, Jack River, and a fresh wave of rising acts including Blusher, Teenage Dads, Kinder, Pacific Avenue and more.
Known for its community-driven vibe, Great Escape has become a Tassie staple with a BYO alcohol policy, licensed bars, yoga sessions, and DJ sets all part of the experience.
Organisers reflected on the festival’s growth, writing on the website: “Over the years, our festival has grown in size, but its heart remains the same: a warm, supportive and positive community.”
Expressions of interest are now open for upcoming artists keen to join the bill, with presale tickets live from Tuesday, 2nd September, and general sale kicking off Friday, 5th September.
