Jack Osbourne has hit out at Roger Waters over comments the Pink Floyd bassist recently made about the late Ozzy Osbourne.

    • READ MORE: Ozzy Osbourne, 1948-2025: culture-smashing revolutionary that redefined rock and reality TV

The heavy metal pioneer frontman died on July 22 at age 76. In a statement, his family shared that he was “surrounded by love” at the time of his passing. His death came just weeks after he played a final live show in his hometown with Black Sabbath.

In the weeks following the Prince Of Darkness’ death, numerous musicians have paid homage to the legend. One musician who hasn’t been too kind to Ozzy in recent times however, is the often-controversial Roger Waters.

Waters recently spoke to The Independent Ink on a myriad of topics, including how figures in pop culture are used to distract people from political issues:”How can we push this to one side? I know how to do it! We’ll do it with Taylor Swift or bubble gum or Kim Kardashian’s bum.”

He then turned his attention to singling out the recently deceased Ozzy: “Ozzy Osbourne, who just died, bless him in his whatever state that he was in his whole life, we’ll never know. Although he was all over the TV for hundreds of years, with his idiocy and nonsense. The music, I have no idea. I couldn’t give a fuck.”

Waters went on: “I don’t care about Black Sabbath, I never did. I have no interest in biting the heads of chickens or whatever they do. I couldn’t care less, you know.”

Jack Osbourne, son of Ozzy, has since taken to social media to defend his late father’s honour, writing in a scathing post: “Hey Roger Waters, fuck you. How pathetic and out of touch you’ve become. The only way you seem to get attention these days is by vomiting out bullshit in the press. My father always thought you were a c*nt – thanks for proving him right.”

His post also included the caption #FuckRogerWaters – check out the full post below.

This marks the second time in recent weeks that the children of Ozzy have had to combat negative statements made about the late musician. Last week, Kelly Osbourne took to social media to hit out at “disrespectful dirtbag” WWE wrestler Becky Lynch, who commented on Ozzy’s death during a live taping of WWE Raw in Birmingham.

Lynch said on live TV: “I’m not wrestling in Birmingham. The only good thing that came out of here died a month ago. But in fairness to Ozzy Osbourne, he had the good sense to move to LA, a proper city.  Because if I lived in Birmingham, I’d die too.”

Kelly Osbourne later replied on social media: “[Becky Lynch] you are a disrespectful dirtbag! Birmingham would not piss on you if you were on fire. #birminghamforever. Shame on the WWE for allowing such things to be said about my father and his home!!!”

Ozzy’s death certificate confirmed his cause of death to be a heart attack, while also mentioning that he was suffering from coronary heart disease and Parkinson’s. The document listed his occupation as “Songwriter, Performer and Rock Legend”.

Kelly paid her first pubic tribute to her late father before thanking fans for their “love, support and beautiful messages” in the wake of his death: “Grief is a strange thing. It sneaks up on you in waves. I will not be OK for a while, but knowing my family are not alone in our pain makes a difference. I’m holding on tight to the love, the light, and the legacy left behind.”

Kelly joined her mother Sharon, brother Jack, and sister Aimee for a public funeral procession in Birmingham on July 30. Ozzy was then laid to rest in the grounds of his UK mansion after a private ceremony. Jack has also shared a tribute to Ozzy, writing: “He lived and he lived his life fully. I love you dad.”

Ozzy passed away just 17 days after his huge final live show with Black Sabbath in Birmingham, which raised “a ton” of money for Cure Parkinson’s, Birmingham Children’s Hospital and Acorns Children’s Hospice.
