Dream Theater have announced their first Australian tour in nearly nine years, with a run of national dates booked for February 2026. The four-date run comes as part of the band’s world tour celebrating 40 years as a band, as well as celebrating their recently-released 16th studio album Parasomnia. The full list of tour dates, as well as ticketing information, can be found below.
“The excitement we have felt from the fans since the first leg of this tour was announced has been overwhelming,” said the band in a joint press statement. “Now, we get to bring the show to our fans all across the world, and play a bunch of cities that we haven’t been together in for more than a decade. We can’t wait to continue this historic celebration of 40 years together with everyone in Asia and Australia next year.”

The band were last in Australia in 2017, which came in support of their album The Astonishing released the year prior. They attempted to return to Australia in 2020; however, those plans were inevitably thwarted by the COVID-19 pandemic, as were all international tours. The tour was rescheduled to 2021, but was later cancelled outright and not rescheduled for a second time.
Since they were last here, the American prog-metal band have reunited with their original drummer Mike Portnoy – who originally exited the fold back in 2010 – and released a further three studio albums: 2019’s Distance Over Time, 2021’s A View From The Top Of The World and the aforementioned Parasomnia from back in February.
With Portnoy back on board, the band will be playing Australia with their classic line-up – as established on 1999’s Metropolis Pt. 2: Scenes From A Memory – for the first time since 2009. This line-up has recorded seven of the band’s 16 studio albums, including Parasomnia, and features Portnoy alongside fellow co-founders John Petrucci (guitar) and John Myung (bass), as well as long-serving lead vocalist James LaBrie and keyboardist/guitarist Jordan Rudess.
