The Beths have announced their return to Australia, playing a run of shows in April 2026. The shows are part of the band’s ongoing world tour in support of their recently-released fourth studio album, Straight Line Was A Lie, and will see the band playing their biggest headlining shows locally to date. The full list of tour dates, as well as pre-sale and ticketing information, can be found below.
“We’re going to be so good at these songs by then… I hope,” quipped lead vocalist and guitarist Liz Stokes in a press statement. “Can’t wait to play them for you.” The band premiered several tracks from Straight Line Was A Lie on their most recent Australian tour, which took place back in March – including the title track, ‘Mosquitoes’, ‘Take’ and the album’s second single, ‘No Joy’.
The Beths – ‘No Joy’
Straight Line Was A Lie was released last week, roughly three years after the release of their third album Expert In A Dying Field. Produced by lead guitarist Jonathan Pierce, the album has thus far spawned three singles: ‘Metal’, the aforementioned ‘No Joy’ and ‘Mother, Pray For Me’. Its chart placement is to be determined; however, it is expected to chart well in the band’s native New Zealand, where Expert In A Dying Field topped the albums chart upon release in 2022.
The band will kick off the Straight Line Was A Lie world tour with two nights at the Button Factory in Dublin later this month. The tour will take the band across the UK, mainland Europe and North America through to mid-December. Supports will vary from leg to leg, with openers including Flight Of The Conchords‘ Bret McKenzie, American indie-rock act Illuminati Hotties and fellow New Zealand band Phoebe Rings – who supported The Beths on their Australian tour back in March.
