Stewart Copeland – best known as the drummer of The Police – has announced his debut solo tour of Australia, bringing his spoken-word show Have I Said Too Much? down under next January. The storytelling show will see the acclaimed and influential drummer sharing stories from across his nearly 50-year career, with opportunities for fans to submit their own questions during the talk.

“Demand for this intimate new show has surpassed my expectations,” said Copeland in a press statement. “I can’t wait to return to Australia & New Zealand next year and share the stories of my life with even more fans.” He will be joined by Perth-based radio presenter Sarah Tout, who will serve as the host and master of ceremonies for all four of Copeland’s Australian events.

With this announcement, all three former members of The Police have either recently visited Australia or are in the process of returning. Lead vocalist and bassist Sting toured the country in 2023, and is set to return next year to perform his stage musical The Last Ship exclusively at Brisbane’s QPAC (the Queensland Performing Arts Centre) in the Glasshouse Theatre next April.

Guitarist Andy Summers, meanwhile, toured his multimedia show The Cracked Lens + A Broken String – which, as its title suggests, blends Summers’ photography with his guitar playing – last September. The show consisted of Summers telling stories from across his 40-year-plus career, as well as playing a mix of his solo compositions and some Police songs. Accompanying him visually was series of photographs that Summers had taken over the years.

The band have been back in the headlines recently regarding legal action being taken over the royalties for their back catalogue. As reported by the BBC, both Summers and Copeland have united to sue Sting for allegedly underpaying them each by roughly £1.5 million (roughly AUD$3086265). Sting’s lawyers, however, have argued that the guitarist and drummer have potentially been overpaid.
