WELLAND, ONTARIO – Veteran radio host and podcast creator Shane Christopher Neal announces the release of his debut book AFTER THE ENCORE: Intimate Conversations with Music Legends – a compelling collection of interviews spanning seven seasons of his acclaimed Industry 45 – From the Drum Throne podcast.

The book offers readers unprecedented access to candid conversations with music royalty, including Dennis DeYoung (Styx), Rick Springfield, Liberty DeVitto (Billy Joel), Harry Hess (Harem Scarem), George Lynch (Dokken, Lynch Mob), Steve Gorman (Black Crowes), Deen Castronovo (Journey), and many more legendary artists who shaped the sound of rock and roll.

“This book really is about some of the artists I have interviewed and bands that I have admired over the decades,” said Neal. “Getting to understand someone’s WHY or what motivates and influences them – that’s what drives my passion for these conversations.”

Neal brings a unique perspective to music journalism, having spent over two decades in radio and television. Currently the podcast host of Industry 45 – From the Drum Throne (seven seasons and counting), previous radio host at 91.7 Giant FM and Country 89.1 FM, current
radio host at Classic 1220 AM Radio, and co-host of BS Live Rocks on YourTV Niagara for nine years, Neal has also served as host and speaker facilitator for The Departure Festival (formerly Canadian Music Week) for twelve years.

The book captures the essence of what made 80s and 90s rock so compelling – from the raw
honesty of artists discussing their creative processes to behind-the-scenes stories that have
never been told publicly. Featured interviews span from established superstars to up-andcoming
artists, reflecting Neal’s belief that “everyone is on their own path.”

Highlights include Randy Rand (Autograph) discussing how they got signed at Madison Square
Garden thanks to Van Halen, Dennis DeYoung revealing that “Babe” was never intended for
Styx but written as a private love letter to his wife, and Rick Springfield explaining how “Jessie’s
Girl” became a hit because DJs simply loved the song – not because it was officially released
    as a single.

“The bands, interviews and conversations are really not in any order or genre,” Neal explains.

“They’re just part of what I have done for a number of years, and I respect anyone that takes
time to speak to me on radio about their craft.”
