Glenn Richards – best known as the founder, lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist of Augie March – has announced he will embark on a solo tour across October and November 2025, covering most states in the process. The 11-date tour sees Richards jokingly bill himself as “the 33rd hottest Australian songwriter of all time”, in reference to Augie March’s ‘One Crowded Hour’ entering triple j‘s Hottest 100 Of Australian Songs at number 33. Richards’ full itinerary, with ticketing info, is shared below.
“Recording an album and touring simultaneously after long periods of dormancy is my kink,” Richards wrote in a post to his social media accounts. “So, get in and see me dissect the songs from all the stupid albums. Some dates [of the tour] are still to be added, but the gist is: I get on a plane and go to places we haven’t been in a long time and find out if there’s anyone still out there for it, reconnoitre like. Hoping so. Really looking forward to seeing you.”

It has, indeed, been several years since Richards embarked on a tour – be it by himself or with Augie March. The band played a one-off show back in July as part of Northcote Social Club‘s 20th anniversary celebrations, while also playing select shows in regional Victoria in 2024 and a handful of shows throughout 2023. Their last tour was in 2022, for the 20th anniversary of Sunset Studies.
Richards, meanwhile, has played very few solo shows in the decade thus far. His second solo album, Fibatty!, was released independently in December of 2020 – meaning he could not tour in support of it due to COVID-19. He has played roughly five solo shows since 2021, including support slots for Sarah Blasko and The Whitlams‘ Tim Freedman. Ahead of the tour kicking off in Mapleton, Richards will perform at the Brunswick Ballroom on Sunday, October 12th as part of a Tom Waits tribute.
