Stella Donnelly has officially announced her third album, which is entitled Love And Fortune. It’s slated for release on Friday, November 7th via Dot Dash Recordings – marking her first release with the label – and is her first new music in three years, following the release of Flood back in 2022. After previously releasing the double A-side ‘Baths’ and ‘Standing Ovation’ last month, the Perth-based indie singer-songwriter has now lifted a third song from the forthcoming album, ‘Feel It Change’.
“I wrote this song on a baritone guitar in the shed of my sharehouse, plugged into all of my housemate’s overdrive pedals,” said Donnelly of the new single in a statement. “I think the neighbours started getting shitty after awhile, because I stewed on the same chords for ages. It’s about the rumination of slowly peeling off the band-aid of a relationship that was doomed to fall apart. [I was] trying to capture that phase of a break-up where all you do is bristle and fizz in resentment and finger-pointing.” Watch the Nick McKinlay-directed music video below.

Donnelly recorded Love And Fortune in Melbourne, largely self-producing the LP herself with assistance from engineer Julia Wallace (who also sat in on keyboards for several tracks) and Jade Imagine’s Tim Harvey on the mix. The album features contributions from longtime rhythm section Jack Gaby (bass) and Marcel Tussle (drums), as well as backing vocals and percussion from Cupid & The Stupids frontwoman Sophie Ozard – marking the first time the pair have worked together.
“These songs wouldn’t leave me alone,” said Donnelly of Love And Fortune. “Like seagulls, they screamed at me when I rode to work, they pecked at me while I wrote essays, and they stole my chips the second I thought I was happier without music.”
