New York City noise-rock pioneers Helmet are heading back down under in 2026, bringing their riff-heavy precision and legendary live intensity to fans across the country in April.

The tour kicks off in Newcastle on Thursday 16 April at King St, before hitting Sydney’s Metro Theatre (17 April), Brisbane’s Tivoli (18 April), and Byron’s Northern Hotel (19 April). From there, Page Hamilton and co. will take their wall-of-sound west for a night at Perth’s Magnet House (21 April), then on to Adelaide’s The Gov (22 April), Hobart’s Altar Bar (24 April), and wrapping it all up in style at Melbourne’s Northcote Theatre (25 April).

    Helmet – ‘Unsung’

Formed in 1989, Helmet helped shape the sound of heavy alternative music in the 90’s, with their landmark album Meantime going gold and inspiring a whole generation of bands from Deftones to Korn.

Records like Betty and Aftertaste cemented their reputation as a group unafraid to experiment while keeping the riffs hostile and the grooves locked tight. More recent releases, including 2023’s Left, prove they’re still pushing forward.

Beloved repeat visitors to Australia, Helmet’s relationship with local fans runs deep, and their 2026 return promises a career-spanning set that’ll dig into over three decades of uncompromising heavy music.
